Leaked emails accessed by CNN-News18 allegedly show the news outlet NewsClick promoted Chinese state-produced COVID propaganda, pushed CCP talking points over India's interests, and altered depictions of India's official borders. Critics online say the leaks expose a NewsClick-Beijing nexus and accuse left-leaning commentators of repeatedly defending the outlet despite earlier allegations of foreign funding links.

Why now: Fresh leaked emails revive scrutiny of NewsClick's alleged ties to China, a politically charged issue in India.
