Hadrian's Wall: Rome's fortified northern frontier in Britain

Original: Der Hadrianswall entstand ab 122 n.Chr. unter Kaiser Hadrian als befestigte Nordgrenze der römischen Provinz Britannia.

Hadrian's Wall was built from 122 AD under Emperor Hadrian as the fortified northern border of the Roman province of Britannia. Stretching roughly 117 kilometres, it linked the Solway Firth with Wallsend on the River Tyne. After the Romans withdrew, large sections fell into decay and many stones were reused elsewhere, though substantial remains still draw visitors today.
