A home gardener reports freezing the last of this year's serrano peppers, around six to eight, with 12 to 15 jalapenos still to be frozen as well. The peppers will go into chili cooked with Pellegrini beans, of which the household harvested three gallons this year.

Why now: It is the end of the growing season, so gardeners are sharing how they preserve their pepper harvests.
