The importance of communities around software
A new blog post argues that the communities surrounding software projects matter as much as the code itself, discussing how maintainers, contributors and users shape a project's health and longevity. The essay is drawing attention and debate among developers about open source sustainability and what keeps projects alive.
Why now: Ongoing debate in developer circles about open source maintainership, sustainability and the social side of software projects.
