Book lovers joke about admitting their own reading habits
Original: asking for a f̶r̶i̶e̶n̶d̶ myself # bookmemes # getnotified # bookstodon
Readers in the Bookstodon community are sharing a lighthearted meme that plays on the classic 'asking for a friend' formula, with the word 'friend' crossed out to confess the question is really about themselves. It taps into the book community's habit of self-deprecating humor about reading obsessions, buying too many books, or waiting for new releases, and invites others to tag along and turn on notifications for similar book memes.
Why now: Relatable self-deprecating humor about book habits resonates strongly in online reading communities.
