A Philadelphia-area forecaster reviewing Thursday's weather notes that morning fog formation came in much lighter than predicted by the previous day's models. The update is part of a weekly forecast review for the city. Local weather watchers often compare model predictions with actual conditions, and forecast misses like this one draw attention to the difficulty of pinning down fog timing and coverage.
Why now: Local residents follow Philadelphia weather forecasts closely and a model miss on fog is notable talking point.
