Original: 中日 戦力外
The Chunichi Dragons have issued out-of-contract notices to 15 players, including four pitchers, prompting talk of a painful rebuilding season after the team finished last in the Central League. Reports highlight that nearly an entire draft class has been let go within three years, while fans reacted with shock that a 28-year-old reliever was informed the day after Japan's championship series ended. The club drafted eight new players in response.
Why now: The unusually large number of releases from a last-place club has stunned Japanese baseball fans.
