Former Formula 1 team principal Guenther Steiner has reversed his earlier advice to Oscar Piastri, saying the Australian should now stay at McLaren despite a difficult season for the team. A year ago Steiner had suggested Piastri should consider leaving the Woking squad, a stance that drew criticism at the time, and his change of heart is now drawing attention as the driver's future remains a talking point in the paddock.
Why now: Steiner previously urged Piastri to leave McLaren, so his reversal on a contested driver-market call is prompting debate among F1 fans.
