Elbert Hubbard quote on religion circulates amid faith debate
Original: Give us a # Religion that will help us live – we can die without assistance. —Elbert Hubbard ______________________ # at
A century-old line from American writer Elbert Hubbard is making the rounds again: "Give us a religion that will help us live – we can die without assistance." Shared under atheism, faith and god tags, the aphorism is drawing agreement from secular readers who see it as a sharp critique of religions focused on death and the afterlife rather than practical guidance for living.
Why now: The quote's biting take on religion resonates with users debating faith and atheism online.
