Original: Thompson Center originally the State of Illinois Center - upshot from interior # photography # photo # monochrome # glas
A black-and-white photograph looking up through the interior of Chicago's Thompson Center, originally known as the State of Illinois Center, is drawing attention among architecture and photography fans. Helmut Jahn's postmodern state office building, famous for its vast glass atrium, is often celebrated for the light, reflections and geometric patterns visible from inside, and the image highlights those qualities.
Why now: The Thompson Center is a beloved and contested piece of Chicago architecture, so striking interior shots of it draw interest.
