Original: zeev buium

Zeev Buium, the young Israeli-Jewish NHL defenseman, is at the center of a fan controversy in Vancouver. Sports commentary sites report Canucks supporters are 'melting down' over Buium, with one piece accusing some critics of hostility toward him for being Jewish and Israeli. The exchanges coincide with fan discussion around Quinn Hughes' return and trade speculation involving the Canucks.

Why now: Fan anger over trade talk and alleged prejudiced reactions toward the Israeli-born defenseman has sparked debate online.
