Dockworkers' strike on Friday to hit 100 ports

Dockworkers are planning a general strike on Friday 30 October, with at least 100 ports expected to take part. The action is being linked by supporters to the war in Gaza, with unions and activists calling for widespread disruption to shipping. Commenters say the strike deserves far more attention than it is currently getting, and are urging others to spread word of the stoppage across ports and shipping networks.
Why now: A large-scale coordinated dockworkers' strike affecting 100 ports is imminent and many feel it is under-reported.
