Nostalgia for the old internet fuels debate

A German-language reflection lamenting how the internet has changed is drawing attention online. The author recalls a time when people from all over the world exchanged ideas in real time without pushy algorithms, and argues that today the web has supposedly become a world of manipulation, a plaything controlled by a few. The post links to netzpolitik.org, tying the complaint to ongoing debates about platform power and algorithmic influence.

Why now: Concerns about algorithms, manipulation and the concentration of internet power are a recurring talking point in tech commentary.
