Free software advocates contrast Linux with big tech surveillance
Original: # BigTech vs # Linux # Software # tracking # surveillance # spy # Microsoft # Google # Apple # Linux # foss # os # secur
Free and open-source software supporters are pushing the argument that Linux offers an escape from the tracking and data collection built into Microsoft, Google and Apple products. Posts frame big tech operating systems as spyware, invoking surveillance, big data and Orwellian dystopia themes, and position FOSS as a privacy-respecting alternative.
Why now: Ongoing public concern about digital privacy and surveillance by major tech companies is driving renewed promotion of Linux and open-source alternatives.
