Alejandro Balde out as Barcelona's defence stretched thin
Original: alejandro balde
Barcelona will host Alavés with a defensive crisis, and Alejandro Balde is at the centre of the concern. The left-back's absence leaves coach Hansi Flick short of options at the back, with reports in Spanish media describing the defence as 'in tatters' ahead of the La Liga fixture. Fans are debating who can fill in and whether the Catalans can avoid dropping points against a side that has troubled them before.
Why now: Balde's fitness or suspension is affecting Barcelona's line-up for an imminent match against Alavés.
