Reports circulating online suggest Donald Trump could promote Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban as a candidate for UN Secretary-General, potentially with the backing of the United States, China and Russia. Commenters note that even with such support, a candidacy would likely face vetoes from the United Kingdom or France on the Security Council, making Orban's path to the post highly difficult.

Why now: The idea of a Trump-backed Orban candidacy for UN chief is a surprising geopolitical scenario drawing debate about Security Council veto politics.
