The Tampa Bay Rays are facing criticism over low attendance at a World Series game, with fans mocking the small crowds at their home ballpark. Critics say a franchise that cannot fill seats for baseball's biggest stage struggles to command respect, noting the stadium would be only sparsely populated even if the team won the championship.
Why now: The World Series is under way and the Rays' weak home attendance has become a talking point among baseball fans.
