Roblox accused of bulk-downloading 145GB of 3D models without permission
Original: Roblox downloaded 145GB models from us (including adult content) without asking
Open3DLab, a site hosting user-made 3D models, says Roblox downloaded roughly 145GB of assets from its platforms without asking, including adult content that would violate Roblox's own rules. The site published a statement detailing the mass scraping, and the story is drawing attention on tech forums, with commenters questioning Roblox's data practices and whether the models were used to train AI systems.
Why now: Roblox allegedly scraped large amounts of third-party content, including adult material, without permission, raising concerns about data use and possible AI training.
