Congress alleges vote theft as booth tallies exceed ballots cast
Original: 719 votes at the booth, 900 for BJP! New proof of vote theft, chaos ensues | Gyanesh Kumar | Vote...
India's Congress party is alleging fresh evidence of electoral fraud, claiming one polling booth recorded 719 votes cast yet the BJP received 900 votes there, an arithmetic impossibility it says proves vote theft. The party has directed the accusation at Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, and the claim has sparked heated political chaos and demands for answers.
Why now: The allegation of impossible booth-level tallies directly attacks the credibility of India's election machinery, fuelling a fierce ruling-party-versus-opposition fight.
