Original: mass effect

Fans of the Mass Effect series have collected more than 170,000 signatures on a petition calling on EA to keep supporting the franchise, and are now planning to place a billboard outside EA's headquarters. The campaign comes amid concern about the future of the sci-fi role-playing series, with supporters using social media and trending searches to push their message to the publisher.

Why now: Fans are alarmed about the franchise's future and are drawing attention with an unusually large petition and planned billboard protest.
