Original: The Hexa-Bouncer May Be The Most Overengineered Thing You See This Week https://hackaday.com/2026/10/12/the-hexa-bouncer
Hackaday is featuring the Hexa-Bouncer, a DIY robotics project being called possibly the most overengineered build of the week. Details beyond the name are sparse, but the project sits in the maker community's tradition of elaborate machines built for the joy of engineering rather than necessity, combining hexapod-style mechanics with an amusing bouncing function.
Why now: Maker communities enjoy celebrating absurdly complex DIY builds that showcase engineering skill for its own sake.
Rank over time, top of the chart is #1. 20 snapshots from 6 d ago to 5 d ago.
