Vucic's election loss seen as blow to CDU allies
Original: Mit # Vucic verliert nach # Orban ein weiterer Verbündeter von # CDU # CSU eine Wahl. Deutsche Medien sind manchmal etwa
Aleksandar Vucic has lost an election in Serbia, following a similar defeat for Viktor Orban's camp, according to commentary circulating in German political discussions. Critics are pointing to the German CDU/CSU's ties with both leaders, arguing that established media outlets are selectively forgetting the Union's cooperation with anti-democratic forces. The losses are being framed as part of a wider decline for the Union's authoritarian-friendly partners.
Why now: Vucic's defeat in Serbia is drawing attention because it highlights the CDU/CSU's relationships with illiberal leaders like Orban and Vucic.
