Steamcmd tool broken on Apple Silicon Macs
Original: Tell HN: Steamcmd doesn't work on Apple Silicon
Valve's Steamcmd command-line tool, used by server operators and developers to install and update dedicated game servers, does not run on Apple Silicon Macs. The complaint was raised on Hacker News, where users noted there is no native ARM build, forcing Mac users to rely on workarounds such as Rosetta emulation or Linux containers to get the tool working.
Why now: Mac developers and server administrators are frustrated that a widely used Valve tool still lacks native Apple Silicon support.
