Musk calls for end to 'endless slaughter' in Ukraine war

Original: "The endless slaughter of Ukrainian and Russians must stop. We should some sympathy for the poor Russian conscripts too.

Elon Musk has called for an end to the war in Ukraine, saying 'the endless slaughter of Ukrainians and Russians must stop' and urging sympathy for Russian conscripts, whom he described as young men with no choice but to fight and die in drone strikes. The comments reignite debate over his positions on the conflict and US involvement, with critics arguing the plea downplays Russia's role as the invading force.

Why now: Musk's high-profile remarks on the Ukraine war and his framing of Russian conscripts as victims are drawing strong reactions on both sides of the debate.
