Apple to Launch Touchscreen MacBook Pro After Decades of Resistance
Original: Apple to Unveil Touch MacBook Pro After Two Decades of Resistance
Apple is expected to unveil a MacBook Pro with a touchscreen, ending nearly twenty years of refusing to add touch displays to its laptops. Bloomberg reports the announcement would mark a major shift in the company's laptop design philosophy, long led by Steve Jobs' objections to touchscreens on Macs. The move comes as premium Windows laptops with touch displays have become standard, and attention is now on pricing, battery life and how macOS adapts to touch input.
Why now: A long-standing and well-known Apple design stance is being reversed, making the announcement notable to tech watchers.
