Sudanese women activists name ceasefire as top priority
Original: Rights activist: Ceasefire top priority for Sudan’s women - Dabanga Radio TV Online
A Sudanese rights activist says a ceasefire is the top priority for Sudan's women, Radio Dabanga reports. With the war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces continuing to displace millions and drive hunger, women's groups are pressing warring parties and mediators to prioritise an end to hostilities and protection of civilians.
Why now: Sudan's war keeps inflicting heavy harm on civilians, keeping calls for a ceasefire in the spotlight.
