Claims resurface of British intelligence collusion in Northern Ireland's Dirty War
Original: About collusion between British military intelligence and terrorists (again) Torture, terror and extrajudicial execution
Attention is turning again to allegations of collusion between British military intelligence and loyalist terrorists during Northern Ireland's Dirty War. A Herald Scotland piece revisits claims of torture, terror and extrajudicial executions from that era, and the search for truth decades on. Critics say successive governments have obstructed full disclosure, while families of victims continue demanding answers about state involvement in paramilitary violence.
Why now: Renewed coverage of historical British state collusion allegations has reignited debate about accountability for the Troubles.
