Claim of Putin Threatening US With 48-Hour Deadline

Original: #BREAKING MAJOR ALERT: PRESIDENT PUTIN HAS JUST STATED ON RUSSIA STATE MEDIA: "AMERICA HAS 48 HOURS, NO MORE DELAYS, NO

A claim circulating online says President Putin declared on Russian state media that 'America has 48 hours' before 'the largest airstrike the world has ever seen', warning that the countdown has begun. There is no confirmation from Russian official sources or major news agencies that any such statement was made, and the wording resembles alarmist posts that circulate during periods of US-Russia tension.

Why now: Allegations of an imminent Russian attack on the United States trigger intense fear and sharing, especially when unverified.
