Baylor fires head coach Dave Aranda
Original: Baylor fires head coach Dave Aranda, Joe Klanderman to serve as interim
Baylor University has dismissed head football coach Dave Aranda, with defensive coordinator Joe Klanderman taking over as interim head coach. Aranda led the Bears since 2020, including a Big 12 championship season in 2021, but the program has struggled in recent years. The move comes amid a broader wave of coaching changes across college football as programs look to reset ahead of the next season.
Why now: A Power Four program firing its head coach is major news during college football's coaching carousel season.
