Fire engine left abandoned on mayor's meadow for years

Original: löschfahrzeug

A fire engine in northeastern Germany has been standing unused on a meadow belonging to the local mayor for years, Nordkurier reports. The decommissioned firefighting vehicle has become a local curiosity, with residents questioning why the appliance has not been sold, scrapped or otherwise removed from the field.

Why now: People are talking about the unusual sight of a municipal fire truck sitting abandoned on the mayor's private land.
