Baylor reportedly fires football coach Dave Aranda

Original: Baylor reportedly fires head coach Dave Aranda, Joe Klanderman to serve as interim

Baylor University has reportedly dismissed head football coach Dave Aranda, with defensive coordinator Joe Klanderman set to take over on an interim basis. Aranda led the Bears to a Big 12 championship in 2021, but the program has struggled to sustain that success since. The move signals a full coaching search ahead for the Bears.

Why now: A Power Four program parting ways with its head coach during the college football season draws widespread attention from fans and media.
