A crowdfunding appeal is circulating asking people to sponsor 75 families with as little as a dollar a month, after bakeries reportedly ran out of flour. Organisers say the pooled funds will meet emergency needs collectively, with pledges standing at 28 of the 32 sponsors needed, under the message 'We do not give up.'

Why now: The flour shortage is a fresh sign of a worsening humanitarian crisis, prompting mutual-aid fundraising.
