Samsung TVs accused of scanning homes via Bluetooth
Original: Samsung TVs look for microphones in your house via Bluetooth and then spy events
A claim circulating on social media says Samsung televisions search for nearby Bluetooth microphones and monitor events in people's homes, raising fresh privacy concerns about smart TV data collection. Commenters are debating whether the behaviour is real surveillance or a misreading of standard Bluetooth pairing features, and many are urging users to review their TV's privacy settings.
Why now: Smart TV privacy and data collection worries are a recurring controversy, and this specific claim of microphones being detected in homes is alarmingly spreading online.
