Participants in Inktober 2026, the annual October ink-drawing challenge, are producing surreal illustrations riffing on Franz Kafka's Gregor Samsa from 'The Metamorphosis'. One German-language piece plays on the theme 'fracture', describing Gregor's left hind leg as broken by a fallen branch, blending Kafkaesque absurdity with the prompt list. The 'kleinekunstklasse' art community is sharing these darkly comic takes as the challenge unfolds.
Why now: Inktober 2026's daily prompts are driving artists to share surreal Kafka-themed ink drawings right now.
