Gone Fishing dog Ted makes final TV appearance

Original: mortimer & whitehouse: gone fishing

Ted, the dog who became a firm favourite on BBC's Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing, has appeared on the show for the last time. Bob Mortimer paid a special on-air tribute to the grumpy canine, who had become an emotional centrepiece of the series alongside the hosts' fishing trips. Newspapers including The Independent and The i Paper ran fond farewells, with readers sharing affection for the dog's deadpan charm.

Why now: Viewers are reacting to the touching goodbye to a beloved animal who had become central to the show's appeal.
