Online censorship is crushing indie webcomics
Independent webcomic creators say they are losing income and audiences as payment processors and major platforms tighten rules on adult and LGBTQ+ content, forcing removals or account bans with little recourse. The piece, published by Xtra Magazine, argues that moderation policies designed for large corporations fall hardest on small creators, and readers are debating how far private platforms can go in policing expression.
Why now: Growing concern over payment processors and platforms restricting adult and queer indie content is renewing debate about censorship of small creators
