Original: dallas cowboys cheerleaders

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are moving to form a union, a milestone for the famously iconic NFL cheerleading squad. The announcement, reported by Yahoo Sports, follows years of scrutiny over the pay and working conditions of cheerleaders across the league, several of whom have previously filed lawsuits or negotiated improved contracts. Supporters are applauding the move and calling on the Cowboys organization to bargain a fair agreement.

Why now: The squad's unionization drive is new and touches on ongoing national debates over fair pay for professional cheerleaders.
