A developer has released php2shell-migration, an open-source AI agent skill designed to help teams modernize outdated PHP applications. The tool plans migration steps, applies upgrades on a separate Git branch, runs tests to confirm nothing breaks, and produces a report detailing what was actually verified. It is aimed at developers still maintaining legacy PHP codebases who want automated assistance with upgrades.

Why now: Many teams still run legacy PHP applications, so an AI-assisted migration tool is drawing attention from developers.
