Claims of Emergency Alert System activation spreading in the US
Original: BREAKING !!! THE EBS HAS GONE OFF IN THE USA !!! - LOS ANGELES - CHICAGO - HOUSTON - PHOENIX - NEW YORK CITY - PHILADELP
Posts are circulating claims that the Emergency Broadcast System has been activated across several major US cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, New York City, Philadelphia and Seattle, with the phrase 'something big is coming'. There is no official confirmation from FEMA, the FCC or any government agency that a nationwide alert has gone out. The claims carry hallmark language of conspiracy-related rumors rather than verified emergency reporting.
Why now: Unverified claims of a nationwide emergency broadcast are circulating and being shared, likely tied to online conspiracy speculation.
