Democrat James Talarico tells Elon Musk: Texas is not for sale
Original: Democrat James Talarico targets Elon Musk at rally: ‘Texas is not for sale’
Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico attacked Elon Musk at a rally, declaring 'Texas is not for sale.' He denounced his Republican opponent, state Attorney General Ken Paxton, citing corruption allegations against him and criticising Musk's financial backing of the campaign. The comments sharpen the fight for a Senate seat Republicans have long held, framing it as a battle between grassroots Democrats and billionaire-funded Republicans.
Why now: A rising Democrat is directly confronting Elon Musk and Ken Paxton in a high-profile Senate race in Texas.
