Obama tells Ohio rally critics were wrong on Iran nuclear deal
Original: At Ohio rally, Barack Obama takes told-you-so on approach to Iran nuclear policy
Barack Obama used a campaign-style rally in Ohio to argue that his administration's approach to Iran's nuclear programme has been vindicated, framing the moment as a told-you-so to critics who opposed his diplomatic strategy. He pointed to what he presented as evidence that engagement and pressure worked better than the alternatives his opponents favoured, urging the crowd to remember who backed the deal and who fought it.
Why now: Obama is re-entering the political debate to defend his Iran nuclear legacy, drawing fresh attention to a contested policy issue.
