A free, open-source clone of Fasttracker II, the classic music tracker beloved by the Amiga demo scene, is available for download with packages for Arch, RPM and Debian-based distributions. The project, maintained by developer 8bitbubsy, reproduces the original tracker's interface and workflow while running on modern systems. Demo scene musicians and Linux users are sharing the release and celebrating the revival of a landmark tool in tracker music history.
Why now: Nostalgia for classic demo scene software combined with the practical appeal of a libre, cross-platform music tracker for Linux users
