Trump suggests U.S. warships make 'stopover' in Cuba
Original: Trump suggests U.S. warships 'do a little stopover' in Cuba after Iran war
Donald Trump proposed that U.S. warships 'do a little stopover' in Cuba following the conflict with Iran. The remark, reported by Fortune, suggests a U.S. naval presence near the island at a moment of heightened tensions with Havana's government. The comment has drawn attention for hinting at a possible shift in U.S. posture toward Cuba immediately after the Iran war.
Why now: Trump's suggestion of U.S. naval visits to Cuba signals a potentially provocative shift in policy toward Havana right after the Iran conflict.
