Xinjiang's large-scale cotton fields are now run almost entirely by unmanned smart farming technology, covering plowing, planting, management and harvesting. The system uses smart irrigation, drone patrols, AI analysis and agricultural robots, and grew from a 2021 pilot started by two young people on about 200 hectares.
