Kroger's Inventory Robots Are Becoming a Familiar Sight
Original: Our local Kroger has several of these inventory robots roaming around. Somehow, they always seem to show up in whatever
Shoppers at Kroger stores are noticing tall inventory-scanning robots roaming the aisles, checking stock and prices. One customer joked that the machines always seem to appear in whatever aisle they are shopping in, wondering aloud if the robots are following them. The observations highlight how retail automation is becoming a routine part of everyday grocery trips.
Why now: Retail robots are increasingly common in stores, and shoppers find their habit of turning up nearby both funny and slightly unsettling.
