Trump administration sues to block possible Democratic win in Alaska Senate race
The Trump administration has filed a lawsuit seeking to block a possible Democratic victory in Alaska's Senate race, according to an Associated Press live report on the midterm elections. The legal move, coming shortly before election day, would affect the outcome of one of the country's most closely watched Senate contests. Reactions so far are limited to the report itself, with details of the lawsuit's legal basis and which officials are named not yet spelled out.
Why now: The suit is an unprecedented attempt to use litigation to influence the result of a Senate election days before the midterms.
