White House Accused of Shutting Down Epstein Files Probe

Original: White House Directly Intervened to Shut Down Epstein Files Probe

The New Republic reports that the White House directly intervened to shut down an investigation into the Jeffrey Epstein files. The claim suggests political interference at the highest level of government in a case that has repeatedly drawn accusations of a cover-up. Critics are likely to seize on the report as further evidence of obstruction, while supporters are expected to dismiss it as partisan reporting.

Why now: Ongoing public suspicion around the handling of the Epstein files makes any report of White House interference highly controversial.
