Piyush Goyal clashes with EU panel over carbon border tax

Original: 'You Created The Mess': India's Piyush Goyal Destroys EU Panel's Carbon Tax Argument | Fiery Clash

India's Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal clashed with an EU panel over the bloc's carbon border tax, telling its defenders 'You created the mess' during a fiery exchange. He argued the EU's own industrial history makes its criticism of developing economies hypocritical, and his remarks are drawing strong reactions from viewers across India and Europe, with many siding with his defence of Indian industry.

Why now: The confrontational exchange over the EU's carbon border tax is a new, quotable moment in an ongoing trade dispute between India and Europe.
