Semantic search tool spans major museum collections
Original: Semantic search across major museums
A new project called Last Museum offers semantic search across the collections of major museums, letting users find artworks by meaning rather than exact keywords. The tool is drawing attention among art and technology enthusiasts, who see it as a fresh way to explore cultural archives that have long been difficult to navigate.
Why now: Semantic search applied to museum collections is a novel use of AI that interests both the art and tech communities.
