Norway's Queen Mette-Marit announces a break
Original: königin mette marit von norwegen
Queen Mette-Marit of Norway has published a personal statement announcing she is taking 'time and space' – a break from public duties. The news comes as she continues treatment for pulmonary fibrosis, which has led her husband, Crown Prince Haakon, to carry out more engagements alone. German-language media are also sharing a rarely seen photo of her children, Ingrid Alexandra and Sverre Magnus.
Why now: The queen's announcement of a health-related break from royal duties has prompted fresh media attention across German-speaking outlets.
